Suitability: Most of the Orchids are suitable for Indian conditions. Infact most of the ochids have their orgin from the tropics. However precautions needs to be taken to safeguard the plants from extreme temperatures. In the western countries the plants are guarded from extreme cold. In India plants have to be guarded from extreame hot and dry conditions by using appropriate shade nets, mist and humidifiers.
The requirements varies according to the species and hybrids are more tolerant than its parents. This is only a rough guide of climate suitability.
